Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin is expected to visit India next month to reconstitute the board of Hutch Essar, which would be renamed as Vodafone Essar.
Sarin, the vice chairman of Hutch Essar, will usher in the changes in the board on which Essar vice chairman Ravi Ruia will join as chairman.
Meanwhile, the UK mobile major is busy in chalking out strategies for brand relaunch after it completed acquisition of Hutch Essar earlier this month.
First the company has to apply to the Registrar of Companies seeking change the name, after which RoC would have to ensure that the proposed name is not owned by anybody else, before approving it.
In March, both Vodafone as well as its Indian partner Essar reached an agreement for jointly running India's fourth largest mobile firm -- Hutch-Essar.
The partners have agreed that Hutchison Essar will be renamed Vodafone Essar and in due course the business will market its products and services under the Vodafone brand," it said.
Under the terms of the partnership, Vodafone will have operational control of Vodafone Essar and Essar will have rights consistent with its shareholding, including proportionate Board representation.
