Moneylenders, throughout history, have been known to use force to recover their dues. Today, banks and financial institutions are following suit.
Banks often use force to recover the loan amount/EMI or repossess cars or credit card dues. Some banks even say that if force is not used, defaulters would never repay.
But now the Supreme Court has come down strongly on the practice of banks and FIs employing goondas to recover loans from defaulters. The court has ruled that banks cannot employ goondas and must take recourse to the legal route to recover their dues.
