The world's biggest steelmaker Arcelor MittalĀ said on Friday it has received a writ of summons to appear before a Dutch court for legal proceedings initiated by Arcelor shareholders seeking an injunction against the mega merger of both the companies.
"ArcelorMittal announces that it has received a writ of summons on behalf of certain shareholders of Arcelor S A to appear before a judge in summary proceedings of the court of Rotterdam on August 22. The claimants are seeking an injunction against the merger of Mittal Steel SA and Arcelor SA," the company said in a statement.
"ArcelorMittal believes there are no grounds to these claims," it said and added that the steelmaker would provide further update in due course.
