Coca-Cola in trouble again

Soft drinks major Coca-Cola on Friday denied allegations that its products were unsafe and said it met all quality and food safety norms.

Reacting to reports of four children falling sick after consuming the company's soft drink a few days ago, Coca-Cola said it will cooperate with any regulatory body "which can bring out the truth".

Terming such reports as an attempt to paint the company products in bad light, the soft drinks major said: "Our products adhere to all quality and food safety standards and are absolutely safe."

Four children at Chemancheri in Koyilandy taluk of Kerala reportedly fell sick on April 17 after they consumed Coca-Cola soft drink the previous day.

They were rushed to the Medical College hospital, their condition is stated to be stable. Following the incident, an irate mob had ransacked a company godown in the area.
