Naukri estimates 'grossly inaccurate'

In response to the clarification by Sanjeev Bikhchandani, co-founder and chief executive officer, Naukri.com, Arun Tadanki, president and managing director, Monster.com India, has termed the Naukri claim as 'grossly inaccurate.'

Following is the Monsterindia.com response to the interview:

This has reference to the comments regarding the comparison of traffic of Monster India and other job sites. I would like to respond as follows:

Our competitor's estimate of Monster India traffic is grossly inaccurate.

Our competitor claims to be twice as big as Monster India, based on an inaccurate  estimate of Monster India traffic and incorrect statements about how we count new  resumes.

As per their own admission, our competitor's traffic is 8,000 new resumes /day currently. Their  claim to be twice as large as Monster India seems to be based on an inaccurate estimate of  Monster India traffic (which they claimed was 4,000 resumes / day!).

Monster  India, during the three-month period prior to the interview with Business Standard, received  on an average 13,000 new resumes per day which is 62% more than our competitor's  new resume flow. This confirms our claim that Monster India gets more new resumes than  our competitor.

I would like to specifically clarify that this data does not include JobsAhead traffic (a property  owned by Monster) and our lead in terms of new resumes will be larger, if we were to include  JobsAhead traffic data.

They also claim that they have grown by 20% in the last quarter. However, in an interview with  Business Today in July 2005, our competitor claimed 10,000 new resumes /day then (15 months  ago). It means that their resume flow declined by 20% over a 15-month period.

Our competitor made an incorrect statement about how we count new resumes.

Our new resume count includes only those resumes which are entirely new submissions on our Web site. If any user updates or modifies the resume that was submitted earlier, the same is not included  in our new resume count.

We made a simple statement that in our estimation Monster India is attracting more new  resumes than our competitor (which is now confirmed by our competitor's admission of their resume flow per  day) and we stand by this statement. That closes the matter.
