N R Narayana Murthy, Infosys Technologies co-founder, retired on Sunday, August 20.

Commenting on his retirement, Murthy had said during the company's 25th anniversary celebrations: "I do feel sad, but am happy too. It is a mixed feeling. It's like getting your daughter married: you are sad that she is going away, but happy that there is someone younger -- and stronger -- to take care of her."

Although the iconic leader will continue as the chief mentor and non-executive chairman of the company, his role will be vastly different from the one he had till now. Murthy will now spend most of his time mentoring entrepreneurs and giving his time to universities across the world to promote higher education.

"The company is now in the hands of the youngsters. It is necessary to recognise the power of youth and to nurture it. I am about the past. I am gone. They are the future," said Murthy.

What do you think about Narayana Murthy stepping down? Will Infosys be the same again without him at the helm? Will it keep growing at the scorching pace it has set?
