Wish Manmohan Singh, father of Indian reform

September 26, 2005

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the father of India's reforms and liberalisation programme, was born on September 26, 1932 in Gah, West Punjab (now in Pakistan).

He has pledged to press ahead with reforms to usher in 'the Indian century,' create more jobs and lift millions out of poverty.

Wish the prime minister on his 74th birthday today.
