2330 scrips were gainers, 113 missed bus

Ninety-five per cent of the actively trades stocks turned out to be gainers in the last 55 trading days that took the Sensex at an all-time high of 8052. Of the 2,445 actively traded stocks, 2,330 were gainers and 113 were losers.

As many as 994 stocks, accounting for over a 40 per cent of the actively traded stocks, hit to a new 52-week highs in the first five trading days of the current month. What more, as many as 581 stocks hit an all-time high in the five trading days of this month.

The 1000-point Sensex rally between June 21 and September 8 saw as many as 390 scrips gaining over 100 per cent each. As many as 611 scrips appreciated between 50 and 100 per cent while 669 scrips appreciated between 25 and 50 per cent.

The major gainers in the current rally were from T group, with share prices of 161 companies in this group gaining over 100 per cent since June 21. The 108 stocks in B group gained over 100 per cent while 41 companies in Z group gained over 100 per cent.

The 40 S group stock gained over 100 per cent each while 25 stocks in TS group gained over 100 per cent. Only 15 B1 group stock gained over 100 per cent while nil from A group.

Bharti Tele-Ventures remained the biggest gainer among the Sensex stocks, rising by 39.4 per cent between June 21 and September 8. Bharti scrip moved up from 237 on June 21 to Rs 330.30 on Thursday. Among other sensex stocks, ACC gained 28.14 per cent, Hero Honda gained 27.43 per cent, BHEL 26.36 per cent and State Bank of India 25.79 per cent.

Among the small caps, Prime Property Development gained the most with its stock price rising by 873 per cent since June 21. The price of Prime Property moved up from 30.15 on June 21 to Rs 293.60 on Thursday.

BF Utilities gained 666.5 per cent from Rs 74.55 to Rs 571.40, Gslot Entertainment gained 659.38 per cent from Rs 8 to Rs 60.75 and Srinivas Shipping gained 613 per cent from Rs 18 to Rs 128.30.
