The new support centre, located in San Jose, California is expected to be fully operational this quarter and the company would hire over 50 IT professionals in phase one of its expansion in the US, a statement said.
"The move to set up a facility in the US has been the result of a couple of major outsourcing wins last quarter, which has necessitated a partial US-based support delivery operations," SlashSupport CEO Shiva Ramani said.
The California facility has the capabilities to handle support calls of all levels and complexities -- level zero to three. It has 24x7 capabilities and is seamlessly integrated with other centres based on the SlashSupport OneWorld model.
SlashSupport employs over 2,000 people at its offshore facilities. As part of its ramping up of its operations in India, the company is currently in the process of hiring over 1,000 people in Chennai.
