In 2004, IIM Calcutta had placed a record graduating batch of 242 candidates, the largest across all premier business schools.

Companies from sectors like consulting, financial services and IT were prominent at the placements.

In 2004, there were 162 offers made and 124 acceptances.

IIM Calcutta also has a lateral placement programme for students with significant work experience.

IIM Calcutta said it would continue to nurture independent thinking and the ability to explore avenues like entrepreneurship.

Lateral Placements allow both firms and students greater choice in recruitment.
