Now STD calls at 99 paise/minute

Cellular service provider Idea has announced a new STD (standard trunk dialing) tariff of 99 paise a minute for its customers of Delhi [ Images ] and national capital region for calls made to any private GSM mobiles anywhere in the country.

Besides prepaid users, the offer is also applicable to all Idea post-paid subscribers on the new Idea India [ Images ] plans.

Idea has introduced these new tariffs from July 6 for its Delhi and NCR (National Capital Region) customers wherein all private GSM calls can be made for 99 paise for local and STD, while the Idea-to-local Idea will be charged at 75 paise.

Under this plan, STD from Idea mobile phones to BSNL, MTNL [ Get Quote ], Fixed wireless, WLL will cost Rs 2.75 paise a minute, while the local calls to these phones will be charged Rs 1.75 paise unit.

Local SMS will cost Rs 1 from the earlier Rs 1.50, which is lower than most other operators, and all these at no daily deductions or additional rentals, it said.
