"We have conveyed to the Centre our willingness to purchase power at Rs 2.20 per unit from the Dabhol plant," state Energy Minister Dilip Valse-Patil said in Mumbai on Thursday.
The state, which was facing a shortfall of more than 2,800 MW, has been purchasing power at Rs 3.10 per unit to tide over the deficit.
Patil said the state government has issued a notice for unbundling of the Maharasthra State Electricity Board but did not disclose the status.
He said the government would discuss with the MSEB employees before the unbundling of the state power utility.
