Budget Demanding that "disability" be announced as a priority area for development in the Union Budget, NGO Disability Rights Group on Monday suggested that certain percentage of Budget for various ministries be allocated towards implementation of provisions under the Disability Act.

The Union Budget should introduce a composite plan for the disabled wherein all the ministries should allocate a certain percentage of their budget towards implementation of the provisions under the Act, DRG said in a release in Mumbai.

"The Budget should spell out incentives for the corporates to encourage employment of disabled people," the release said.

The group has drawn up suggestions for the Railway and Union Budgets and already submitted them to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and Finance Minister P Chidambram, the NGO added.
