Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will visit the Bangalore campus of Tata Consultancy Services, the first Indian company to set up a wholly foreign-owned enterprise in China, to get first-hand knowledge on India's prowess in the field of information technology.

Wen, who is scheduled to arrive in Bangalore on April 10 on the first leg of his maiden state visit to India, is keen on understanding the emergence of India as an IT giant, especially in the area of software, official sources said.

"Bangalore is the base of India for scientific and technological development and is known as the Silicon Valley of India. This time Premier Wen will pay a visit to the area around Bangalore and meet with some local scientists. Premier Wen would like to know more about the experience of India in developing science and technology," Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei told PTI in Beijing.

As per plans, Wen, who is also a Politburo Standing Committee member of the ruling Communist Party of China, would be received by chief executive officer and managing director of TCS, S Ramadorai along with other top executives, company sources said.

TCS, Asia's largest IT services company, has a global delivery centre in Hangzhou and offices in Shanghai and Beijing, with more than 200 associates.
