Leading carmaker Maruti Udyog Ltd has dominated the 2004 four-wheeler total customer satisfaction study conducted by market information provider TNS.
As many as three models of Maruti made it to the top ten ranking in their respective segments for customer satisfaction judged by the responses of over 7,000 car buyers.
Three models of Toyota also ranked highest in their segments, according to the study.
While Maruti 800, the company's bread-and-butter model, was ranked highest in the 'entry compact' segment, 'Zen' and 'Esteem' came out on top in the 'premium compact' and 'entry midsize' segments.
Toyota Corolla was the first in the 'premium midsize', Camry in 'entry luxury' and Qualis in the SUV category
In the 'small car -- diesel', Tata Indica ranked highest, while
Mitsubishi Lancer was the first in two categories.
Ford Endeavour was ranked highest in the premium SUV category, the study said.
