Hinduja TMT has acquired US-based IT-enabled services company, Source One Communications Inc, in an all-cash deal of $8.5 million from Georgeson Shareholder Communications Inc.
"This acquisition gives us multiple capabilities in many verticals, like energy and electricals consumer service and sales, apart from a high-quality marketing team of around 10 personnel," SOC managing director and chief executive officer K Thiagarajan said in Mumbai on Friday.
The funding for the buy was entirely through internal accruals, he said.
The acquisition also gives the Hinduja Group company around 22 clients from various verticals, which include both Blue Chip and Fortune 500 organisations, he added.
SOC, which has call centres in US, Toronto and Manila (The Philippines), also provides the company with offshoring, nearshoring and onshoring facilities.
The acquired company, owned by Georgeson Shareholder Communication (which in turn is a unit of Computer Shareholding Inc), had posted a consolidated revenue of $15.87 in fiscal ended June 30, 2004.
SOC also owns a 57.5 per cent stake in Source One Communications Asia, while the remaining stake is being held by Customer Contact Centre Inc (C3) of Manila (42.5 per cent), Thiagarajan said.
HTMT had earlier acquired C3 for $3.9 million, and with the acquisition of SOC, the company is able to consolidate its ownership of SOCA, he said.
