Who will be India's new finance minister, when Dr Manmohan Singh will take oath as India's 14th prime minister on Saturday?

The names of former finance ministers Pranab Mukherjee and P Chidambaram have been doing the rounds.

Some reports say Manmohan Singh [ Images ] might keep the portfolio with himself until the Budget is announced.

Also in the running, say reports, are secretary of the Economic Affairs Department of the Congress Jairam Ramesh [ Images ]; former RBI Governor Bimal Jalan; 12th Finance Commission Chairman C Rangarajan; and newly elected Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia [ Images ].
