Society members of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad), who faced the wrath of senior bureaucrats of Union human resource development ministry on Tuesday, might consider taking a legal action unless the matter is resolved amicably.

"We might take a legal course of action to settle the matter judiciously if not settled through discussions. There are differences in the way the constitution of the institute has been interpreted and that must be solved in a proper manner for a hassle free future," IIM-A Society and donor member Prafull Anubhai told PTI in Ahmedabad.
The IIM Controversy: Complete Coverage
Anubhai, however, did not want to discuss details of the meeting and the outburst by the ministry officials.
Society members were shocked at the behaviour of the representatives of the HRD ministry -- joint secretary V S Pandey and financial advisor V Piparsania -- who also indicated the ouster of IIM-A director Praful Dholakia.
"The government representatives should give some sort of reason to seek the director's ouster. We will support him as the society has full faith on the director and his administrative skills," Anubhai said.
IIM-A Society members who were part of the 'adjourned' meeting, comprising 30 of the 150 odd members, are also constantly in touch with Infosys chairman and chief of the board of directors of IIM-A N R Narayana Murthy, over the issue and are awaiting his arrival from abroad.
The HRD representatives, during the meeting, have focused and also mentioned about the clauses in the memorandum of association which governs the working of IIM-A Society.
