The last time Asian Paints used a celebrity in its advertising was some ten years ago, when Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan of Pataudi was its brand ambassador.

Otherwise its most famous face has been the disheveled, cute young chap named 'Gattu.'

After a long time this year the paints major roped in actor Akshaye Khanna for an undisclosed sum in the new campaign for the luxury emulsions brand, Royale. For Akshaye, this is the first big endorsement.
