Rakesh Mohan takes over as RBI deputy governorIndia's former chief economic adviser, Rakesh Mohan, on Monday took over as a deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Mohan, who has been appointed in place of Y V Reddy, will be in charge of key areas like monetary policy, external investments and operations and internal debt. The RBI said in a statement that Mohan's appointment is for a period of three years. Prior to this, Mohan was working as a director and chief executive of Delhi-based Indian Council for Reserach in International Economic Relations. Mohan, born in 1948, received his masters degree and doctorate in Economics from Princeton University, US, the release said. (With added inputs from PTI) ALSO READ:
