Government asks DCA to aid JPC on market scam

Puja Mehra

The government has asked the department of company affairs to assist the joint parliamentary committee on the stock market scam. Top government officials said that the DCA would work as an expert group to assist the committee.

"Officials of the department have been asked to attend the next JPC meeting scheduled for May 29," they said.

The department has been asked to give evidence and explain the functioning of the primary market, secondary market and the Companies Act, 1956, they added.

The meeting scheduled for May 29 will be the fourth sitting of the committee.
