SIA still in fray for A-I pie: Ratan Tata

Though Singapore Airlines is 'distressed with present controversies', it has not pulled out and continues to be in the fray with the Tatas, the Indian partner, for acquiring a stake in Air-India.

"SIA is distressed with controversies going on in the Parliament about the divestment process," Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata said in Bombay on Friday.

Addressing the shareholders of Indian Hotels Company Ltd, he said "the government cannot expect foreign companies to wait and hear the political parties going on and on about the divestment issue and hence expressed a general disillusionment".

When asked whether they have pulled out of the bid for A-I, Tata said, "the bid is still on".
