Enron's decision 'unfortunate': Maharashtra CM

Maharashra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on Thursday termed as 'unfortunate', the US Energy major Enron promoted Dabhol Power Company Board's decision to stop sale of power to the state.

"We have already requested the energy multinational not to take any harsh decision," Deshmukh said.

He had earlier said: "We have directed the state government officials, attending the Enron board's meeting, to dissuade the energy company from its move to wind up its operations in the state as it will be harmful to both of us."
