Kicking off the inaugural show of the HDIL India Couture Week on September 16, was celebrated designer Ritu Kumar. Kumar showcased a vibrant line of Indian formal/bridal wear with heavily embellished chania-cholis, shararas, saris and salwar kurtas in rich tussar silks and crepes all making an appearance.
Vying for attention, apart from the gorgeous designs, were actresses Priyanka Chopra and Neha Dhupia sashaying down the ramp in breath-taking ensembles. Seen here is Ritu Kumar (centre) accompanied by actress sisters Riya (R) and Raima Sen.
The event that promises wearable made-to-order clothes at realistic prices will continue until Sunday, September 21 with leading Indian couturiers including JJ Valaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra and Rohit Bal presenting their lines.
