The Finance Minister has announced a twenty per cent hike in education budget this year from Rs 28,674 crore to Rs 34,400 crore.

Do you think this will help improve literacy levels in India? Will this move help improve the poor education standards in remote rural areas?

Also, there's a proposal to start 3 new IITs in the states of Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan. The Finance Minister has also announced opening of 16 central universities in 2008-09.

Do you think this will raise the higher learning education standards going ahead? Will this help India emerge as a major hub that supplies skilled talent worldwide?

Do you think the Finance Minister should have done more for the upliftment of poor educational standards in India? Tell us.
