FM's recos: Will education standards improve?

The Finance Minister has announced a twenty per cent hike in education budget this year from Rs 28,674 crore to Rs 34,400 crore.

Also, there's a proposal to start 3 new IITs in the states of Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan [ Images ]. The Finance Minister has also announced opening of 16 central universities in 2008-09.
