What: British Council has announced doctoral scholarships for 2007-8 under the UK-India Education and Research Initiate.
Details
~ Up to 10 scholarships are available for Indians to carry out research, leading to PhD and DPhil from a UK institution.
~ Scholarships are aimed at strengthening educational relations between India and UK.
~ Scholarships are fully funded. This includes academic fees, international air fare and a monthly stipend to cover living expenses.
Selection process
~ You will be shortlisting from the applications received.
~ This will be followed by Personal Interviews.

Are you eligible?
~ You should:
- Be an Indian national with a valid Indian passport
- Be below 35 years of age as on May 15
- Have an excellent academic track record
- Be applying for a doctoral research degree (PhD, DPhil) in a UK university
- Be planning to commence study by September/October 2007
~ You could be from any disciplines. However, majority of the awards are likely to be in areas related to science and technology.
