C-DAC: Admission to short term courses

What: Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Kolkata opens admission to its short-term Post-graduate certificate course in Language Technology & Information Technology.

Programme details
a) Six-month full-time certificate course in Language Technology (in collaboration with the Paschimbanga Bangla Academy) for computerisation in:  

  • Processing of Bangla and other Indian languages
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Speech processing

Desired qualifications: BE/ B Tech/ MCA, MSc, BA (Hons)/ MA in Linguistics/ Literature/ Psychology/ Comparative Literature (Mathematics as Compulsory subject in Class XII).

 

Candidate's age should not exceed 24 years for general category candidates, or 26 years for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates. Reservations as per GOI rules.

 

Course startsJanuary 1, 2008
Course fee: Rs 10,000

 

Selection through Computerised Aptitude Test (sample test paper available on C-DAC website): No TA/DAfor selection test

 

b) Two-week certificate course on Information Security (Titled: Information Security --  A Practical Approach)

 

Desired qualifications: Fresh engineering graduates/ IT managers/ network engineers

 

Candidates must be 35 years old as on December 14, 2007.

 

Course starts: January 1, 2008
Course fee: Rs 10,000,
Course venue: C-DAC, Kolkata Office at Sector V,
Salt Lake.
