Last week, we asked Get Ahead readers to share stories with us of office relationships that went sour. Needless to say, we got a lot of interesting responses -- here are a few!

I had a love relationship with one of my subordinate. We planned to get married. But when we moved forward there were a lot of misunderstandings and we broke up. Since then, she made a hell of my life. She harrased me to an extent and threatened to give complaint on sexual harrassment. Like a slave I did things for her. It prolonged till she switched to another job.

I have a true love story about my colleagues working in IT support. Rajesh, a North Indian boy fell in love with new joinee Madhur, a South Indian fair looking girl. Both of them were going steady and their love was getting nurtured. This affair went on for 2 years. When I left the job, they were planning to get married.

Recently, I came to know from my other colleague that Rajesh is married to someone else and Madhur is also married to someone else. I was shocked to hear this news. It happened that when they informed their decision to marry each other to their parents, the reaction was mixed. Rajesh's parents were ready to accept the alliance, but from Madhur's family, her father was not accepting the alliance. He did not wanted Madhur to marry out of the caste. Madhur's mother was ready to accept Rajesh as son-in-law. Finally after 8-9 months later they decided to part the ways. According to them, marriage happens between the families and not as individuals. If one of the parents were not happy for the alliance, then the relationships between the families will not be a healthy relationship. They wanted the blessings from all 4 of them. This was the major reason to part the ways, although Rajesh's family has accepted Madhur.

I could see the different form of love between them and have a great respect for Rajesh and Madhur. They have defined a new form of love.

According to me, office romance is purely to have sexual preference or for one night stands and this is more particularly true for married people in office. There can be many reasons behind this like one is not satisfied with their partners, or husband and wife are not spending that much of quality time with each other as compare to their office colleagues.

WORK WHILE YOU WORK
PLAY WHILE YOU PLAY
THAT IS THE WAY TO BE HAPPY AND GAY
NEVER MIX LOVE AND WORK .I AM SORRY TO SAY IT IS INDIAN CULTURE.SO OFTEN LOVE BECOMES BLIND.

I said i was lking for a gd gal to fall in lve with whom i shud marry. She was anxious to knw abt my interest i njoy in my lfe.
then finally on my b'day she proposed to me.
I took 1 week n told all abt me, my family, my parents.
She listened carefully n nodded saying she is interested to run a family with me despite i xplained abt my 1000 problems in getting married.
She even try to get my attention by coming close talking a bit dirty holding my hands, alot went like this.

She has bcome boss n me the manager. both r getting a hefty amt as pay due to which myself, parents, brthers r leading luxurios life.

I think office romance is mostly temporary. In it levels may be different. There might be age difference. Afterall success of it depends on chemistry between colleagues.
