What: The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2007 on February 18, 2007 for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy for the courses commencing in January 2008 and Officers Training Academy, Chennai for the course (men and women) commencing in April 2008.
For details regarding the eligibility, syllabus and scheme of the examination, centres of examination, guidelines for filling up application form etc. aspirants must consult the detailed notice of the examination published in the Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar dated September 23, 2006.
Are you eligible?
For Indian Military Academy
~ You must be an unmarried male born not earlier than January 2, 1984 and not later than January 1, 1989.
~ You must be a graduate from a recognised university or equivalent.
For Naval Academy
~ You must be an unmarried male born not earlier than January 2, 1986 (January 2, 1984 in case of NCC 'C' certificate Naval Wing holders) and not later than January 1, 1989.
~ You must be a BSc (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering.
For Air Force Academy
~ You must be an unmarried male born not earlier than January 2, 1985 and not later than January 1, 1989.
~ You must be a graduate from a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
For Officers' Training Academy (SSC Course for Men)
~ You must be (married or unmarried male) born not earlier than January 2, 1983 and not later than January 1, 1989.
For Officers' Training Academy (SSC Course for Women Non-technical)
~ You could be an unmarried woman/ issueless widow who has not remarried/ issueless divorcee (in possession of divorce documents) who has not remarried.
~ You must be born not earlier than January 2, 1983 and not later than January 1, 1989.
~ Widows of Defence Personnel who have died in harness, (including those with children) are also eligible if they have not remarried. They will be granted age-relaxation of four years in the upper age limit i.e. they should have been born not earlier than January 2, 1979 and not later than January 1, 1989.
Note: You could be a final year student awaiting your results, provided you submit proof of passing of the degree examination by the specified dates published in the Commission's notice fore examination.

How to apply?
~ You must use the common application form devised by the Commission for its examinations.
~ Obtain the application form from the designated Head Post Offices/ Post Offices (specified in Appendix III of the notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20.
~ Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination.
~ In case of any difficulty in obtaining the application forms from the designated HPOs/ POs, you should immediately contact the concerned Post Master.

Important dates
~ Please send your completed application form before October 23.
~ For candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the notice, the last date for receipt of the completed application form is October 30.
