What: Creative writing expert Renu Balakrishnan is organising a workshop for students and working professionals who want to hone their creative writing skills.

- Session 1: Story structure in fiction and nonfiction writing -- complication/ resolution
- Session 2: Plot
- Session 3: Narrative design and voice
- Session 4: Character and dialogue
- Session 5: Setting
- Session 6: Tips on writing by a published author

About Renu Balakrishnan
~ She attended a Master's in Education course at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford.
~ She has attended creative writing programmes at the New School, New York.
~ She writes book reviews for Elan magazine.
~ She has conducted writing workshops for teachers in schools and colleges, most recently at the Xavier Institute of Communication, Mumbai, between November 2005 and January 2006.
How to apply
~ You have to register and pay the workshop fee before February 7 at the Xavier Institute of Communication, Mumbai.
~ You have to collect reading and writing assignments for the first class on registration.
