We spotted lots of dazzling clutches on the fashion runways this season.
So we asked accessory designer Alisha Chinai (not the singer but a cousin), whose creations were showcased at the Lascelles Symons show at the fashion week in Mumbai, to tell us more about how to shop and carry clutch.
"If you've never used a clutch before and plan to invest in your first one, go for something basic in dull gold or silver (like the silver one in the image)," says Alisha.
Gold or silver is to clutches what black is to evening wear, as they tend to match with everything.
When to wear a clutch
~ A clutch can complement Indian outfits, especially the sari. It also does well with western
ensembles, even a simple pair of denims.
~ It's a good idea to keep your ensemble simple and carry a dressy clutch, like the one
showcased in the image.
How do you carry a clutch?
~One way is to keep your thumb on one side and the other four fingers on the other side, facing
downwards and parallel to your body.
~The other way is to let your hand face upwards. But personally, this looks a wee bit
fuddy-duddy.
~Feeling weary of holding it in your hand? Tuck it under your armpit, especially if you are
wearing something casual.
However, as a thumb rule, one must suffer a wee bit, in the name of fashion when sporting a clutch because they are tiring to clutch. What say?
Can you wear this? Yes, yes and yes. A clutch adds a touch of class to any ensemble.
Where to buy these: Stores like Ensemble, Mogra, Ananya, Be: and Cheemo in Delhi and Mumbai.
Also, browse your local stores and flea markets for trendy but economical buys.
