Jet Airways has announced the extension of its instant purchase Check Fares scheme across most of its domestic network.

The move comes after Indian Airlines and Air Sahara announced similar budget air fares recently.

Under the scheme, ticket prices have been slashed by up to 80 percent.

The airline has withdrawn its 15/ 21/ 30 days Advance Purchase (APEX) fare scheme.

What are check fare tickets?

Check Fare tickets to various domestic destinations will be offered under different fare slabs.

These tickets are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

There is no advance booking pre-requisite for this scheme. As soon as the seats reserved for a particular fare slab are sold, the next level of fares will automatically become applicable.

What you should keep in mind...

You cannot block or reserve tickets under this scheme. You will have to book your ticket instantly. You can either book your ticket through a travel agent or through the airline's web site.

Members of the airline's frequent flyer programme can also accrue miles on most Check Fare tickets.

Unlike the APEX scheme, you can cancel your Check Fare ticket; the cancellation fee is Rs 500.
