A Rajesh Pratap Singh creation

H

is collection was an ode to the schoolgirl.

A schoolgirl who was obstinate, a tad rebellious and a throwback to the Post French Revolution era.

Rajesh Pratap Singh, who does not usually use embroidery, made an exception for this time.

His womenswear collection began with his trademark whites and blacks, going on to dusty blues, old rose pinks, sepias and silver.

Thick, crude cotton knits layered with silver foil to give that dipped-in-silver look, inside-out jackets, shirts and tapered pants, skirts, pinafores and dresses dominated the look.

The fabrics used were cotton, fine muslin, chiffons, cotton knits and linen.

Oh, and everyone watching the show got a condom in a steel tiffin box.

"When you are in school, it's good to be safe," said the designer.
