Companies seduce Roshan

Komal Nahta

The year 2000 has been good to Rakesh Roshan. He saw his film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai become a spectacular hit. Yes, he was shot at and suffered a heart attack, but drew succor from the fact his son, Hrithik, became a much loved superstar.

Now, nine months later, Roshan is once again inundated with congratulatory phone calls. This time, the accolades are pouring in for the one-and-a-half minute ad film that Roshan made for Coke last month. It also happened to be the first time Roshan was making an ad film.

The impact is such that four companies have already approached him to make ad films for their products. And if you think Roshan got these offers only with Hrithik as a package deal, perish the thought! None of the offers have come with strings attached. Roshan is free to shoot them with or without sonny Hrithik.
