The Lok Sabha on Wednesday witnessed uproarious scenes, as the Left party members took strong exception to the Supreme Court order directing the holding of the confidence vote in Jharkhand on March 11.

The Supreme Court had on Wednesday directed that the trust vote be advanced to March 11, four days ahead of the date set by Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi.

Basudeb Acharia of the Communist Party of India - Marxist, with party colleagues, raised the issue soon after the House met. Bharatiya Janata Party members protested against this, leading to noisy exchanges in the House.

As the verbal duel continued, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee announced, "I have called a meeting of leaders of parties, during which I will express my views."

The din continued despite repeated appeals by the Speaker to maintain calm.

Visibly annoyed over BJP member of Parliament Karbela Swain's interruptions, the Speaker said, "You don't have to advise me. Don't teach me how to conduct the House."

As the uproar continued, the Speaker ruled that none of the remarks made by the members would go on record.
