PIL challenges President's rule in Bihar

March 10, 2005 10:58 IST

The imposition of President's rule in Bihar has been challenged in the Patna high court.

Communist Workers Platform Convenor Chandrika Prasad, in his public interest litigation petition, urged the court to issue a direction to invite the single-largest party or the largest pre-poll or post-poll alliance to form a government in the state.

The President's rule was imposed in Bihar on Monday night following a recommendation by Governor Buta Singh.
