Lok Janshakti Party leader Ramvilas Paswan on Tuesday met Congress president Sonia Gandhi and offered the Bihar chief minister's post to her party if it tied up with the LJP.
He said Gandhi had invited him for the meeting, which took place close on the heels of her talks with Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad on the seat-sharing issue in Bihar and Jharkhand.
Paswan said he apprised Gandhi of the political situation in Bihar and assured her that an LJP-Congress alliance could secure a two-third majority in Bihar.
He also said that there was no question of allying with the Janata Dal-United as it had tied up with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
