Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi's brother and sister-in-law have been defeated in the assembly election.

Prabhunath Jha, the eldest of her three brothers, and Indira Yadav, wife of Rashtriya Janata Dal Member of Parliament Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav, had rebelled against the RJD and contested as Independents because they did not get party tickets.

Prabhunath Jha lost to Janata Dal-United's Ramsewak Singh in Mirganj while Indira Yadav lost to the Bahujan Samaj Party's Reyazul Haque alias Raju in Gopalganj.

Sadhu Yadav represents Gopalganj in the Lok Sabha. It is also RJD chief and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's hometown.
