An estimated 50 per cent voter turnout was registered during the re-polling in 28 booths across 10 constituencies in Jharkhand on Friday, election office sources said.
The re-polling, necessitated by defective electronic voting machines, delay in polling or damage to the machine by anti-socials during the second phase of assembly election on February 15, passed off peacefully, the sources added.
Repolling was held in 10 booths in Khijri assembly constituency, six in Hatia, four in Mandar, two in Silli and one booth each in Ranchi, Sesai, Ghatsila, Chaibasa, Manoharpur and Chakradharpur.
Two rounds of polling for the 81-member Jharkhand assembly have been completed and the third phase is scheduled for February 23.
