The Election Commission has ordered repolling on Friday in 262 booths in Bihar and 28 in Jharkhand, which had witnessed polling in the second phase of the Assembly election in the two states on February 15.
The repolling has been ordered following reports of excess percentage of polling and malfunctioning of electronic voting machines, EC sources said on Thursday.
The EC had earlier said it would order repolling only after scrutinising the registers of booths where over 68 per cent turnout was registered.
While the 262 booths in Bihar are spread over 14 districts, the 28 in Jharkhand fall under four districts.
The repolling in Bihar would take place along with election to three assembly constituencies of Bahera, Ghanshyampur and Jale, where polls had been postponed due to inadequate security arrangements.
