Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president and Union Coal Minister Sibu Soren has claimed that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has assured him support in case he laid claim to the chief minister's post after the state assembly polls.
"I have a good rapport with her [Sonia] and I trust her completely,"' he told an election rally at Tundi, 40 km from Dhanbad, on Thursday.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, he said, had 'insulted' him as well as the people of Jharkhand by getting him removed from the union Cabinet with 'false cases'. "But now it is time for the people to take revenge," he said.
Soren held the state government responsible for the extremist problem in Jharkhand. Innocent youths were being killed in fake encounters, he alleged.
