Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was on Saturday elected to the state assembly after a gap of 17 years from South Pahalgam constituency.
At the end of fifth round of counting, he had established an unassailable lead of nearly 5,500 votes over his National Conference rival Rafi Mir, who managed only 2,300 votes with just less than 2,000 votes to be counted.
Only 11, 537 votes were polled during the by-election on Wednesday.
