Former criminal Arun Gawli, who is contesting as an Akhil Bharatiya Sena candidate from Chinchpokli assembly constituency in Mumbai, on Wednesday cast his vote.
Dressed in white, Gawli reached the polling booth near his 'Dagdi Chawl' residence to vote, much to the surprise of his opponents.
He did not vote in the recent Lok Sabha polls apprehending threat to his life.
His party, the ABS, has fielded 20 candidates in the assembly polls this year.
Gawli is pitted against Madhu Chavan (Congress), Ramnath Prasanth Tripathi (Bharatiya Janata Party), Ansari Mohammed Ayub (Samajwadi Party), Hyat Ahmed Ansari (Janata Dal), Suryabali Chauhan (Bahujan Samaj Party) and Dongre Deepak Sitaram (Independent).
