Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang is all set to be elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the state, party sources in New Delhi [ Images ] said on Monday.

"Though five more results are yet to come, the Congress has already secured a majority and Gegong Apang is likely to be the chief minister," a senior party official said.
The CLP will meet in Itanagar to elect its leader.
Apang has won from Tuting-Yingkiong constituency, defeating his Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] rival Ojing Komboh by 4632
votes.
Buoyed by the Arunachal results, the Congress said it is part of a "continuing" string of victories under the leaderdship of Sonia Gandhi [ Images ].
The results have underscored the fact that Congress is the only all-India party with a significant presence in every
part of the country, a Congress spokesman said.
