Manmohan may meet Prez at 1900 IST

The Congress Parliamentary Party is likely to elect Manmohan Singh [ Images ] its leader at a meeting in the Central Hall of Parliament at 1700 IST.

Singh, most likely accompanied by party president Sonia Gandhi [ Images ] and some other senior leaders, will meet President A P J Abdul Kalam [ Images ] at 1900 IST and stake claim to form the next government.

The Congress leaders will carry letters from all their allies to the meeting with the President.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place on Thursday, though no time has yet been decided for the same.
