Bihar's ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal-led secular alliance is set to surprise all if early trends for the 40 Lok Sabha seats from Bihar indicate that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance is leading in only 12 seats and RJD leading in 16 seats.
Early trends suggest that the RJD-led alliance, including the Congress, LJP and Communist Party of India-Marxists is leading in 16 Lok Sabha seats, the BJP-led NDA in 12 Lok Sabha seats only.
The RJD-led alliance is leading in seats considered NDA strongholds.
RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav is leading from Madhepura Lok Sabha constituency against Union minister Sharad Yadav.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan is leading from Hajipur. Top NDA leaders, include Janata Dal-United chief and NDA convener George Fernandes is leading from Mujaffarpur, Railway Minister Nitish Kumar is leading from Nalanda.
In the capital city, BJP candidate and Union minister C P Thakur is leading against the RJD candidate.
