The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the Bihar home secretary and inspector general (prisons) seeking explanation how undertial gangster Pappu Yadav alias Rajesh Rajan, currently in judicial custody in connection with the Ajit Sarkar murder case, was allowed to roam free in Madhepura parliamentary constituency on the polling day.
Former Bihar chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav and Union minister Sharad Yadav are in the fray from Madhepura. Both have made allegations of intimidation of voters and election staff against each other.
