Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee said in Lucknow on Wednesday that he was sure of leading another National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre.

The PM was interacting with journalists after casting his vote in his parliamentary constituency.

Dressed in a white dhoti-kurta and a blue waistcoat, he voted at a booth in the Bishnu Narain Intermediate College in the heart of the city.

On Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav's remark that a third front would score over the NDA, Vajpayee said, "I fail to understand how Mulayam Singhji is drawing such conclusions. I do not see any such possibility."

Asked how many seats he was expecting the NDA to win, he remarked, "Well, you need 272 to form the government and that should be fine."

Regarding the volley of questions fired at him by his key rival Ram Jethmalani, who is in the fray as a Congress-supported independent, Vajpayee said, "There is only one reply to all his questions, and that is: 'Thank you.'"
