With opinion and exit polls predicting a victory for the Congress in the state assembly election, speculation is rife on who would replace Telugu Desam Party's Chandrababu Naidu in the CM's bungalow.

"It is better we leave the decision to the elected party legislators and the high command. The less we talk about it, the better it is for our health," Reddy, the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in the dissolved assembly, told reporters in Hyderabad on Monday.

His Jubilee Hills residence is humming with activity. Supporters from all over the state are trooping in. He is already being greeted as the architect of 'the Congress victory.'

After the results are out on May 13 and if the Congress does as well as it is expected to be, the race for the chief ministership will only become more intense.

There are three more contenders --   the state Congress president D Srinivas; former Union minister G Venkataswamy and former chief minister N Bhaskar Rao.

A section of partymen have suggested that a leader from Telangana should be made the chief minister, since the region is expected to play a major part in the party's expected victory.

Rajasekhar Reddy belongs to the Rayalaseema region.
