His wife Nalini and mother Kamalamma filed his nomination papers on Wednesday.

The supporters of Yadav, who has been expelled from the ruling Telugu Desam Party, took out a procession from Kanakadurga temple near his house to the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad office, where the papers were filed.

Kamalamma said her son was falsely implicated in the scam by some 'selfish politicians' and exuded confidence that he would win the election. The family will carry out a door-to-door campaign for Yadav's success.

A TDP Corporator of Himayatnagar division, M Sekhar Reddy, and his followers were present when the papers were filed.
